I worked in sales of residential water treatment for over 6 years and this is a widespread problem. Try a cup of bleach in the tank of salt, if salt added. The disinfection of the resin particles in the softening, which is important if the system was either salt or unused for a long time. However, if it smells of sulfur, most standard water softeners do not remove the sulfur water. You may need some extra equipment to remove as an off-tank or sand filter manganese green washing capacity of potassium to sulfur. In addition, the odor from the oven, hot water could, and you want it to be chlorinated by a plumber. Good luck!

Reserviour you need to clean the salt and salt or potassium, always works in your system, then add self-cleaning unit in the middle of the night when no one is water. Often reserviour (ours is plastic) collects water smells, smells of sulfur and minerals, are widespread.
